Former Minnesota collegiate wrestler Carey Vanier has signed with Bellator for the promotion's 155-pound tournament, which will begin in April.

Vanier is a former Ridgewater Community College wrestler. After school, he went to work at a local Best Buy before getting his MMA career started.

Vanier is currently 7-2; he's won six straight and has started training with Greg Jackson's camp down in New Mexico.

The Bellator eight-man lightweight tournament will begin in April and will run Thursday nights on Fox Sports Net affiliates. Highlight shows will run a few days later on NBC and Telemundo. This season's lightweight champion will face off against season one's winner, Eddie Alvarez, later this year.
